Cancer Home Healthcare
Advances in cancer treatment have led to shorter hospital stays, and patients being cared for at home instead of in facilities. As a result, home health care professionals have become more important than ever in maintaining the quality of life for cancer patients in their homes.
Cancer Home Care
The care providers we refer to our clients with cancer are trained to recognize warning signs related to cancer, including the possible side effects of treatments.
Care providers can assist with palliative treatment (i.e. keeping the patient comfortable, especially if they are at the end stages). Care providers can also perform respite care to allow family members acting as caregivers to have important personal time.
The care provider can assist cancer patients with activities of daily living, such as:
Bathing
Dressing
Toileting
Transferring
Ambulating (walking)
Continence care and feeding (as needed by the patient and recommended by their physician)
Medication reminders
Run errands
Light housekeeping
Accompany to doctor’s appointments
Monitor for gross behavioral changes
